Close to 3,000 tamariki and rangatahi from across the region tackled the 2023 Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui Tough Teen and Tough Kid challenge at Cooks Gardens.

A wide range of talented young sportspeople were celebrated at the 2023 Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui Secondary School Sports Awards held at Cullinane College on Wednesday, 1 November.

Held during Youth Week, the inaugural Battle of the Codes for secondary students was a huge success with 130 rangatahi completing an interactive course.

Six new Future Whanganui champions were awarded with grants to support them in their future sporting endeavours, following the latest Future Champions Trust funding round in March 2023.

The 2023 Whanganui Secondary Schools Ki o Rahi Regional Championships were held at Springvale Park on March 29.
