Seven young athletes from six sporting codes have been awarded funding grants to assist with their upcoming international competitions.

The first Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui Future Champions Trust funding round for 2024 has granted $5250 to five talented young athletes from the Whanganui region.

A wide range of talented young sportspeople were celebrated at the 2023 Mitre 10 MEGA Whanganui Secondary School Sports Awards held at Cullinane College on Wednesday, 1 November.

Six new Future Whanganui champions were awarded with grants to support them in their future sporting endeavours, following the latest Future Champions Trust funding round in March 2023.
