Good governance is important for local clubs, community groups, and volunteer committees. At Sport Whanganui, we’re here to support the people behind the scenes who keep our local organisations running strong.

Whether you’re new to a committee, stepping into a leadership role, or just want to make meetings run more smoothly, our workshops are designed to make governance easy to understand and practical to apply.

Our workshops cover everything from the basics of how a board or committee works, to specific roles like chair, secretary or treasurer. We can even come to you and run a session just for your group, great for new members or refreshing your team’s approach.

Custom Workshops

Sport Whanganui can deliver the Governance Essentials workshop to your organisation and to your board members as a customised event. Organisations have found this of benefit as a professional development opportunity, for the board as an induction or as a refresh for all those on committee.

This 2 hour session with your team is invaluable as you sit together to discuss what your role is as a board or committee and what processes you’d like to adopt to be efficient and effective in meetings.

We can also facilitate Strategic Review workshops – please enquire for cost.

If you are interested in a custom session please enquire via info@sportwhanganui.co.nz  to talk more and we can provide a quote.
