VOLUNTEER CARD
The Volunteer Card is a way of saying thank you to volunteers, or as we like to call them, Community Champions, year-round. We appreciate the hours Community Champions commit to sport and active recreation, and the difference that makes to people’s lives across all age groups.
Danny Jonas, Sport Whanganui’s chief executive, describes the outcome of the army of volunteers keeping sports and activities alive, saying, “Being active can positively impact every aspect of our wellbeing. Sport and active recreation provide ways to get fit, build connections, and understand our place in the world. The impact is massive.”
Volunteers who haven’t already registered for the Volunteer Card can do so by contacting their club secretary to organize registration.
Once you have registered for the Volunteer Card you become a member of the Community Champions Network, along with other volunteers and supporting businesses.
Stay tuned via social media and the website for updates and news regarding the Community Champions Network.
