DESCRIPTION:Cycling Whanganui 2025 Youth Road Cycling Series\nWhether you’re an experienced Youth Cyclist or keen to have a crack at Road Cycling for the first time this series is a great opportunity to learn new skills, challenge yourself and have fun!\nENTER HERE ( https://wanganuicycling.club/event/youthroadterm2_2025/ )\nWho can take part?\n• Youth under the age of 19 years. Age Grades U19, U17, U15 & U13.\n• You’ll need to be confident riding on the road, know your road rules and be able to ride at least 8km non-stop.\nWhat do I need to take part?\n• All you need is a great attitude!\n• You don’t need a road bike to take part, starting on your own bike is a great idea. We have a small fleet of club road bikes available.\nHow does it work?\n• Graded Road Race Series starting opposite the Whanganui River Holiday Park on Wednesdays after School\n• We’ll race out and back along Papaiti Road\n• There will be a long course (max 20km) & short course (max 8km) options\n• Varied races to develop your skills and challenge you!\n• This term we’ll also include 2 x Duathlon formats. This can be completed as an Individual or Team. Runner completes a 2km run out and back along the walking/bike path after the cycling leg.\nTerm Two Dates:\n• Wednesday May 7\n• Wednesday May 14\n• Wednesday May 21 – Includes Duathlon Option\n• Wednesday May 28\n• Wednesday June 4\n• Wednesday June 11 – Includes Duathlon Option\n• Wednesday June 18\n• Wednesday June 25\nEvent Schedule\n• 3.45pm: Registration Opens (You’ll need an adult to sign an event waiver if you haven’t registered online)\n• 4.00pm: Registration Closes\n• 4.00pm: Compulsory Race briefing\n• Racing Starts as soon as the briefing is complete\nPost event snack and banter provided. We’ll be done and dusted by 5pm!\nEntry Fees\n$5 per night\nPlease bring cash on the day or pay into the club bank account using your Surname and “youth” as reference\nWanganui Cycling Club\n03 0791 0554164 01\nSchool groups will be invoiced at the end of the term.\nOther Key Stuff\n1. You only need to register once for the series. It saves heaps of time on the day if you can register online below.\n2. Club Hire bikes are available to use for the term. The cost is $20. We also have helmets.\n3. Working front and rear lights are expected on your bike.\n4. You’ll keep the same number for the series, please hand your number back at the end of each race.\n5. Results and photos will be posted on Facebook and the website each week.\n6. Any cancellations due to weather & safety will be posted on Facebook and the website by 2pm each Wednesday.\n7.
